The Tourism Minister, Gaston Vieira, the Brazilian federal government will represent the 32nd International Tourism Fair ( FITUR 2012 ), which will take place between 18 and 22 January in Madrid (Spain). The meeting marks the opening of the world tourism industry calendar, and is considered a showcase for trends and innovations. The Fitur gathers approximately 210 000 participants, including professionals, entrepreneurs and consumers of travel, plus about 10 400 companies and 7000 journalists from 166 countries at least. The stand of Brazil will be in Hall 4. One of the ten largest tourist source for Brazilian destinations, Spain is considered a priority market for tourism promotion in the country, according to the 2020 Plan Watercolor Tourism Marketing International in Brazil. The minister Gaston Vieira will attend the opening of the fair and comply with the agenda of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) and international investment groups. The goal is to give more visibility to the sale of Brazilian destinations, stimulate the growing interest of developed countries to invest in Brazil and take measures to increase the flow of tourists to the Spanish territory.
HIGHER FLIGHTS
In addition to the effect-Cup, which is placing Brazil in a high level of international attention, Brazil has become a competitive player in global tourism industry also for other reasons. "Nature diverse, rich culture, vibrant industry, modernity, democracy and stable economy are questions that have contributed in recent years to target the rise of Brazil as one of the most beloved to sightseeing in the world," says the minister Gaston Vieira. Among the titles already won by Brazil, are: one of the 'New Seven Wonders of Humanity, with the election of Christ the Redeemer (2007), best travel destinations for gays in the world, with the election of Rio de Janeiro by the magazine' Trip Travel Out '(2009), host country of the most beautiful New Year's show on the planet, with the election's Eve in Rio de Janeiro for the World Travel Guide' (2011); country with two of the New Seven Wonders of Nature with the election of the Iguassu Falls and the Amazon, the 'New Open World Foundation' (2010), the people "world's coolest," according to CNN, with the election of the Brazilian people (2011).
In trade relations, Brazil also has improved positions, according to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), in 2010 Spain became the 15th largest trading partner of Brazil, with a growth of 43.3% in trade relations between the two countries. In addition, Spanish companies have injected U.S. $ 3,415.19 million in direct investments in Brazil in 2009, according to the Central Bank of Brazil. Two major groups are responsible for the sum of tourism: Iberostar and Sol Meliá, flags luxury hotels. Other indicators also point to the warming of the Spanish tourism in Brazilian soil. The total supply of seats on flights in the air passage Spain-Brazil, in 2010, was 297,800. The direct flights are operated currently by the airlines Iberia, Air China, Air France, Singapore Air Lines, and TAM. The frequencies of direct weekly flights departing from Spain to Brazil already record high in the first five days of 2012 compared to December 2011.
TASTE OF BRAZIL
Among the strategies to attract the Spaniards to Brazil, the Ministry of Tourism, through the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur), invests in advertising campaigns such as the recent Te Brazil The Flame - Celebrate Life Here and programs to exchange experiences and presentation of Brazilian destinations to travel agencies, tour operators and journalists as the Spanish Caravan Brazil . During the 32 th FITUR, the relationship actions of the Brazilian government will focus on the presentation of the attractions of the 12 host cities for FIFA-2014, working to stimulate an increase in residence time of Spanish tourists in Brazil in the years before World Cup 2014 and the actual World Cup. The campaign will reinforce the image of Brazil as a diverse country, with options that go beyond the tourist destinations of sun and beach.
The intention is to strengthen other segments: business, events, ecotourism, culture and cuisine - which exert a strong appeal in the Spanish market. Unique flavors of Brazil as açaí, cassava, jabuticaba, Umbu, nuts and spices, can be tasted at the show. On the facade of San Miguel Market, where the event will be held, will be designed promotional videos of Brazil, pictures of Brazilian destinations and editing animated inviting residents to visit the booth of Brazil in FITUR. Currently, the main competing destinations in Brazil in the Spanish market are: Argentina, Caribbean, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela.
