HTH Worldwide Selects Cognizant to Help Build Mobile Healthcare Solutions and Improve Member Satisfaction

Cognizant CTSH +0.06% today announced that it is working with HTH Worldwide, a global technology-based health services and information company, to enable its members to maximize the use of mobile technology for managing healthcare needs more effectively while traveling abroad.

As part of the engagement, Cognizant is helping HTH Worldwide transform its mobile footprint through an enterprise mobile platform to support the company's rapidly growing business and further strengthen its leadership position in mobile medical assistance services.

Optimizing HTH Worldwide's mobile applications such as mPassport® and GeoBlue® will enable members using these applications to more conveniently understand, access, and pay for the best available healthcare services in any corner of the world. HTH members use their smart phones today to consult destination-specific global health and safety information, locate doctors, emergency services, hospitals and pharmacies, schedule appointments, and translate medication names and medical terms and phrases. ALC Health Adds More Tools to ALC World, Dedicated Online Member Service

ALC Health, a leading provider of international health insurance, has added yet more online tools and technology to its dedicated member only service ALC World.

Provided as part of each ALC Health policyholder’s membership package, ALC World offers a wealth of information covering medical facilities and services worldwide including city profiles, a drug and medical phrase translation service and local security updates.

Adding a further 500 medical providers to its contracted community, an increase of 9% and 200 additional facilities, an increase of 14%, ALC World has also the number of countries included in its Drug Equivalency Guide including the Philippines, Panama, Cyprus, Turkey, Jordan, Bahamas and Jamaica bringing the total number of countries to 42.

Additional languages are now included as part of the Medical Translation Tool which now includes audio and bilateral translations for twelve languages representing the primary languages for 193 countries: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Independence Blue Cross Introduces Global Blue Coverage for Individuals and Families

Independence Blue Cross (IBC) announces the availability of GeoBlue Travel Medical and International Health Insurance products for individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Since 2011, IBC and GeoBlue have collaborated to offer group coverage for international business travel and expatriate insurance products and services. This coverage is now available for both IBC members and the general public. The new IBC travel and expatriate plans offered through GeoBlue will expand the availability of Blue coverage for all travelers. As well, expatriates will be covered in both the country where they live and anywhere they visit.

For example, if a GeoBlue customer relocates to a European nation, but travels to Asia or Africa, the customer will have health care coverage in each destination. Additionally, GeoBlue policies are available for purchase for both single-trip purposes and multi-trip needs.

"Consumers who purchase GeoBlue products can travel with confidence knowing they are covered worldwide by the trusted Blue brand," said Richard J. Neeson, IBC executive vice president and president of expanding markets. "At IBC, we're working to help the residents of our region stay healthy and ensure that, when they do get sick, health care is safe, coordinated, and available -- no matter where they are in the world."
