The tech-driven group risk provider, YuLife, which is "on a mission to inspire life", has become the latest Corporate Member of The Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII).
The company, founded in 2016, cited 'harnessing our expertise and knowledge within the insurance industry' as a key factor in joining the Association as Corporate Members, according to the firm's Head of Broker Distribution, Barry Waring.
The partnership will enable YuLife to work closely with AMII's circa 120 intermediary firms as it aims to transform the nature of insurance and employee benefits products into life-enhancing experiences which reward employees for healthy lifestyle choices.
Barry stressed how a 'progressive' partnership with AMII was closely aligned with its core values, which include complementing clients' existing PMI cover, as well as providing brokers with new opportunities to offer clients additional value.
He said: "This partnership with AMII seemed like a natural progression for us – the opportunity to become AMII's only Group Risk member was one we could not pass up.
"At YuLife, we are passionate about health and wellbeing – we're on a mission to inspire life. We're firm believers in the need to equip policyholders with offerings which engage them and provide ongoing value on a day-to-day level."
Established in 1998, AMII represents approximately 140 intermediaries, insurers and providers across the health and wellbeing sector. The Association's Executive Chairman, Stuart Scullion, said that the partnership with YuLife will deliver additional value for clients by harmonising their PMI, Group Risk and Wellbeing benefits.
Stuart said, "YuLife is a fantastically innovative company and we look forward to seeing our partnership progress.
"Our partnership with them is set to be fruitful for all our intermediary firms, who will benefit hugely from YuLife's expertise in the Group Risk and life insurance market.
"It's fantastic to see YuLife already looking to engage with our members. They're an organisation which transforms traditional life insurance and employee benefits into life-enhancing experiences which every employee will value and use.
"The YuLife app, for example, uses behavioural science and game mechanics to reward people for living well, and provides direct access to virtual GPs and mental health support."
AMII membership benefits include participation at national conferences, technical regulatory compliance support, parliamentary and regulatory lobbying, Preferential Professional Indemnity Insurance cover, online technical advice and professional support, an education events programme and opportunities to network with industry colleagues.
During the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown period in the UK, AMII has also provided and issued regular guidance for its members. It has taken steps to support insurers and intermediaries through the crisis, including co-hosting a series of virtual seminars and education events with industry experts.
