Generali Global Assistance Partners With Lyft For Non-Emergency Medical Personnel Transportation

Generali Global Assistance has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Lyft, the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S., to bring new levels of connected customer service and cost containment to its clientele of insurance companies and multinational corporations. Generali Global Assistance provides a suite of services to help travelers in times of need – from minor inconveniences to life-threatening medical situations – and everything in between.

Generali Global Assistance counts more than 50 of the top accident, health, property and casualty insurers among the clients that utilize their assistance services – in addition to their own travel insurance business unit. The partnership with Lyft will help ensure that set-up and billing for covered transports for insured and corporate travelers can be managed more efficiently and effectively with less travel interruption and higher productivity for travelers – by booking ground transports through Generali Global Assistance team members with direct access to Lyft's "Concierge Platform." Additionally, the partnership, which is one of the first-of-its-kind, will reduce the overall cost of ground transports which will be passed through to Generali Global Assistance's clients.

The potential integrations of Lyft's services that Generali Global Assistance will explore are numerous. For example, Lyft already has an integration with CareLinx, a leading digital marketplace that provides in-home care solutions for seniors, which Generali Global Assistance recently acquired. Through the partnership CareLinx and Lyft created CareRides, a convenient and reliable door-through-door transportation service to increase freedom and mobility for millions of individuals who need extra support across the U.S. The partnership makes Lyft's ride-sharing service available through CareLinx's mobile application, enabling their elderly customers to easily order a car to get to doctor's appointments, run errands, or visit friends and family with the assistance of a professional caregiver.  


Astrenska And Intana Represent Re-modelling Of Collinson Insurance Group

Astrenska is the new underwriting division led by Gareth Absalom, Group Head. Gareth has over 25 years’ experience in the London insurance market and will manage a team of underwriting specialists. The consolidation creates a division that underwrites over £100m of GWP for its carriers, including A+ paper across key areas such as IPMI, personal accident, health and travel. With the flexibility to deliver co-branded, white labelled and fully managed products to market, Astrenska is well positioned to support its clients in accessing key growth areas of the non-core personal lines insurance market. CIB (formally known as Collinson Insurance Brokers), remains a key area of specialism for Collinson Group, delivering partnership capability in technology led models and traditional broker services.

Intana is the new claims and assistance division led by Martin Weintz, Group Head. Intana has been created by adopting best practice in assistance and customer experience management from capabilities established through both acquisition and organic growth to deliver a fresh approach to assistance services.

Intana offers emergency medical assistance, claims handling, roadside assistance and home emergency support. The brand also provides pre-trip screening, travel guidance and security advice. It will also place focus on the creation of new propositions for nonemergency services.

Martin has over 30 years’ experience in assistance and was previously at AXA Assistance where he worked in a number of senior roles in France and Germany, most recently as Chief Executive of AXA Assistance Germany.

Allianz Global Assistance Launches New and Enhanced Products for Travel Agent Channel

Allianz Global Assistance, one of the largest travel insurance and assistance providers in the U.S., today announced that it has launched a new portfolio of Allianz Travel Insurance core retail plans sold by travel agents.

The company's popular "Classic Plan" is now a family of plans that include optional additional coverage to better fit the needs of travelers. The company is also introducing an inexpensive "Essential Plan" for travelers who do not require post departure benefits such as medical and baggage protection.

"As the country's leading travel insurance provider, we pay close attention to trends in leisure travel and we are continually innovating to meet the changing needs of today's traveler," said Brad Gray, director of retail channel management for Allianz Global Assistance USA. "This new portfolio provides travel agents with the simplest and most competitive line of products that we have ever offered."

The new core retail lineup includes these plans: Essential Basic Classic (base plan) Classic with optional Required to Work enhancement Classic with Trip+ Classic with Cancel Anytime The company's "Classic" family of plans now includes a base plan as well as optional benefit enhancements such as Required to Work, which provides coverage for specific work obligations; and Trip+, which has double the coverage limits compared to the base plan, for benefits that include missed connections, emergency medical and dental, emergency medical transportation, baggage loss/damage and baggage delay.

"Classic with Cancel Anytime," provides 100% cash back when trips are canceled or interrupted due to a covered reason, and 80% cash back for most other unforeseen reasons. On all Classic plans, kids 17 and under can be added for no additional cost when traveling with parents or grandparents.

The company's former "Deluxe" product has been retired, but many of that product's benefits can now be found in Classic with Trip Plus.

"Agents told us to make selling travel insurance simpler, which is why we're so excited about the entire Classic family of products," said Gray. "They only need to learn one product -- Classic -- and then add coverage options. Classic with Trip+ solves an age-old conundrum for agents who sold international trips to families: Do they offer the value of kids being added at no additional cost or do they offer a product with more coverage? Classic with Trip+ solves this problem by including higher coverage limits while still insuring kids 17 and under at no additional cost when traveling with their parents or grandparents."

The new Essential Plan offers a cost-effective insurance option for agents who sell domestic air trips to their clients who already have domestic health insurance. It was designed for people who need some cancellation coverage and existing medical conditions coverage to protect their domestic air investments. As with all Allianz Travel Insurance products, the Essential Plan doesn't have any non-commissionable processing fees which means agents get credit for 100% of their customer's purchase.
